This is such a great book! It really gives you a better understanding of the Old Testament. It's set in the form of a story so it's very easy to read & understand. My Mom & I both had to put this on our keeper shelves!

this book takes the Bible and fictionalizes the accounts from Genesis to the Gospels. Very well written and enjoyable.

I love the Bible. I read it through regularly. The "begats" and the Law bog me down, and I slog through some of the prophecies. But I love the Bible.
Mr. Wangerin does too. His work on this book is excellent. He reverently serves God through making much of the history come to life, including context and surrounding, while not getting bogged down as I do. I truly appreciate what he has done in this book. I may not put it back on my bookshelf!
