This was weird.  I have on my Shelf a book called Grace Notes by Charlotte Vale Allen.  Last week I had a request for Grace Notes Co by Alexander Stoddard.  I have never owned a book my Ms. Stoddard, and definitely never put it on my shelf.  The ISBN for the two books is completely different.

Here is the really weird part.  I declined the request of course, I don't have this book.  Now that I have declined it, it didn't show back 'up' in my Shelf, which makes sense since I never put it there in the first place.  It does show in my transaction archive as a request that I refused.

Anyone want to take a stab at how someone requested a book from me that I never placed on my shelf?

There have been a few system glitches around that seemed like people were getting orders for books they didn't have on their shelf. Otherwise, I'd guess that you posted a book that was very similar and mis-keyed something?Maybe?

It isn't weird that it wasn't put back on your shelf though. If you decline a request for any reason other than requester conditions, the book is removed from your shelf. Since you cannot send the book when ordered, it is assumed it shouldn't be on your shelf at that time.

The latter part makes good sense, if I can't mail it to one person (duh) I can't mail it to another.

It annoys me that it shows in my archive that I canceled a request for a book I never listed.  Truly, the Titles are practically the same... the ISBNs are completely different on these two books!

Thanks Melanie.

This is apparently some sort of glitch.  It has happened to me twice now.  Carol Ann

Thank you!  I am sorry it happened to you, but glad I am not the only one!
