I am a member of the Box of books. I made a request from someone 8/14. They accepted my offer 8/19 & I accept theirs. I mailed their package of books on 8/21 yet they have yet to mail mine. I have sent her reminders and everything yet I haven't heard from her. She has 14 positve feedback.

How long should I wait? I am I being impatiant?? Should I wait another week then give her negitive feedback?? At first I thought that maybe she had some family emergacy or something and that was why she ignored my 2 emails but I don't know.

What do you all think??

I wouldn't let negative feedback. It's too early. Some members forget to mark it mailed and do not log in that often. I would wait a while yet and if she doesn't respond you can always email R&R and find out if she's read your PM's and explain your situation. I would wait until the holiday weekend ends anyway.

R&R are the founders of the site. You can click the "contact us" link at the bottom of any page. I would probably wait a little while yet too. The end of August can be a really busy time for alot of people with kids going back to school and what not. If you don't hear anything from her by early next week I would contact R&R. Good luck!

Is there any recourse aside from negative feedback for boxers? Seems to me there should be if you're paying for a premium service. If you mail a box of 20 books and get nothing in return, are you SOL?

As a general rule, Michelle, you are SOL. But, most people will get away with fewer bad box trades than they can bad credit trades, if that's any consolation. If they don't send a 20 book box, they are not going to be a boxer long, and possibly not a member. While the PO can and does lose everything, most people aren't going to have many boxes of books lost. A single book or two, or even three, yeah, but 20? Something's wrong if that goes bad.

I did have a 3 book box go lost recently, and last year had a 3 book trade also go lost. Both are members that I've traded and talked with and I truly believe they mailed the books and the PO lost them. I also know that if a member wants to continue trading boxes, they are only going to do something stupid like not mailing a trade ONCE OR TWICE at the most. Negative feedback that states the box was never received, goes a long way to damage your credibility, and people won't trade with them.

Also, PBS will step in quicker with a box trade than they do a credit trade, partly, as you said, it is a premium service that is being paid for, and partly because there is usually more than one book involved.

Ashley have you checked her profile to see if she is still a member? I had something similar happen this past April and about a month after shipping my box to her she disappeared from PBS entirely. She never marked received on her end and I never got my books. But later I found out from another member that she had been in a bad car accident and had been hospitalized for several weeks, so that explained why she never followed up on her end.

Ashely, I agree that it hasn't really been that long yet.  However, the Help Center does have guidance for these issues:

What if I never receive my Box-O-Books?

If you have agreed to a Box-O-Books swap and the other Boxer's books don't arrive (or if the swap is not marked mailed by a week after it was accepted), you should contact the other Boxer using the Personal Message button on the swap, to ask if the Box was mailed (or when it might be mailed).

If the other Boxer does not respond to your Personal Message within a week, you should contact us and we will look into the situation.

So, if you PMd her a week after you both accepted AND it's been a week since with no answer, you can contact the PBS Team about it.  It looks like you are a couple days short of 2 full weeks here, but not much.  If you don't hear anything soon, I'd let them know.

Ashley, I have found that waiting for some BOB members to mail their boxes takes lots of PATIENCE from me.  I always mail my boxes as soon as possible but not all boxers do that.   Many also wait until they receive your box prior to mailing to you. As others have stated, sometimes personal situations can cause the delay in mailing.  I had one situation where the sender's son had been in a bad car accident and because of the time involved in caring for him, she did not mail my books until almost 2 months after printing the wrapper.

I know when you are new, that patience is hard as you just want those books but I do think you need to allow more time.
