The book claims to save the reader at least $500 on your wedding and even backs it up with a money back guarantee. This book saved me well over $1000!!! Many, many, many secrets of the "wedding trade" and how to be upscale still on a budget and without cutting corners! This book is HIGHLY reccomended reading/resource for anyone planning their own wedding & celebration!
i must have ordered about 35 books on paperback swap for weddings ALONE!!! this one is the BEST EVER. i got rid of half of the ones i ordered, put the other half in the top of my closet to read later, but i read this one from COVER to COVER! GREAT book!!!
If you have a fortune to spend, skip this book. If you want to keep your parents and your partner out of deep debt and still have the wedding of your dreams, this is THE book for wedding planning. Lots of eye-opening facts about the "Wedding Industry." Lots of common sense ideas. Lots of fun to read.

One of the best books I have found so far on weddings. The book is about how to shop smart and find great deals wedding expenses, and also about how to avoid the scams that vendors often try to pull, knowing that weddings are full of novice buyers and generally don't create any form of repeat business.
This book is a fantastic wake-up call to budgeting realistically for a wedding and a wonderful counter-balance to all the magazines and books that try to push your emotional buttons, gushing about this "once in a lifetime experience" and the "wedding you have always dreamed of" and so on and so forth--- in an effort to manipulate your dreams so that you will try to come up with unrealistic amounts of money to do whatever you think it is that everybody else is doing. It is about finding the right questions to ask to know the fees that places will end up charging you so that you know before you commit to anything. It is about finding ways to create the wedding you want by shopping smart and knowing where to look-- and even about saving money for your guests and the people you love. While I wouldn't use it as guide for finding creative wedding ideas, it is a fabulous way to grab some really practical ideas and tips about how to get from point A to point B--- without becoming a financial black hole.
This book is a must-have for anyone planning a wedding! My wedding is coming up, and this has been a lifesaver. Not only has it given me some moneysaving ideas, but the information has given me the opportunity to do some things at my wedding that I never expected to be able to afford! The hints and tips found in this book are invaluable.
This book is fantastic that has been extensively researched. The book is concrete and has useful resources for a couple that would like to have a beautiful wedding on a realistic budget. I highly recommend this book!

I just got married (May 2008) and used this book as my guide. Their advice was right on the money, and helped me save a bundle while still having a beautiful wedding. I'd recommend this book to any bride.
The national best seller the wedding industry does NOT want you to read! Bridal Bargains teaches couples all the tricks to saving money on a wedding-and how to avoid pitfalls and scams. With the average wedding costing in excess of $20,000, Bridal Bargains is the solution to tying the knot without breaking the bank. I saved a considerable amount and still had a beautiful wedding with the help of this book!!
This was the very best resource I found for wedding planning- not only does it contain info on budgeting, but it contains very practical info on how to make sure you are getting the quality good/ services you want, with "insider" tips on how to avoid pitfalls and unnecessary mark-ups.

This book was written by a clearly angry woman hell-bent on bashing the establishments she felt were not cheap enough, or those who did not bow down and kiss her feet when she tried to bargain a ridiculously cheaper price on everything from custom invitations to dresses to catering.
