I read this book in the late '70's and it still stays with me today. Not only the parallel to the Kennedy's but to the incredibly complete explanation of the world economic system,it's movers and shakers and goals and methods. It made sense to me and feels as though it is still going on today.Very relevant and entertaining. I love historical dramas with intense research. Excellent book.

This book is one of my all time favorites. I think it was suppose to parralel the story of Joe Kennedy. Characters are very interesting, the historical period is fascinating with real people of times and the events. Well written. My favorite Taylor Caldwell book.
Enjoy it.

Irish Immigrants - mom and dad die leaving 3 young children on their own in America. Tales of their growing up, the oldest's struggle to make money, all sorts of trials and heartbreak, and forbidden loves - a curse that carries on through the family. Very gripping and much history woven into the story. That's why I like reading and re-reading Taylor Caldwell.
