It is 1914 and Caressa's anthropologist husband is dead. She has been captured by fierce Taureg tribesman. Her only weapons are her severe independence, brilliance, and imagination will. Full of adventure, brilliant plot twists and deep stabs at traditional morality, this book is interesting and disturbing.

Really fun period adventure story with elements of magical realism. Second time I've read it - it's that good!

Full of adventure! I like Mrs. Pollifax better, but an easy, quick read.
