This is the 4th book in the Phoenix series, author seems bored. Because I missed the 2nd & 3rd books, I suffered greatly because there were references I didn't understand. I have placed those other books onto my wish list and will re-read this one after I get those books read. Maybe then my stars will increase for this review.
Urban Fantasy/ Romance by Lori Handeland, and Fourth in the Phoenix Chronicles. Liz is the leader of The Light, a band of individuals who are trying to stop Demons from overtaking the Earth. This is Book 4 in the series, and they've made no progress. The group is still splintered, with no organization, and no real plan. Liz is obsessed with trying to contact a character who died in the last book. A baby with unusual abiiities appears, who Liz wants to protect. Liz and Jimmy, her second have an ongoing love/hate relationship. This relationship needs to be resolved. I'm getting a little tired of the story and dynamics in the series. These people are going nowhere, fast. Liz is reactionary and goes off on her own agenda, when she choses. If you've read the others, this book is more of the same: action, angst, and lots of verbal sniping. I don't know how much longer I'll follow.
