This is the third volume in the Claymore manga series. This book picks up right where the 2nd book left off. I love this series, there are excellent characters, wonderful action scenes, and a really interesting world. Prior to reading these manga I did watch the whole Claymore anime series, which actually follows these books pretty well.

The second book left us right in the middle of a battle between Clare and a Voracious Eater. This book picks up in the middle of that battle. With the battle wrapped up we start a series of stories about Teresa of the Faint Smile. Teresa is not a nice lady, but her history ties in with Clares.

I continue to love this world where Claymore struggle against Yoma, its an interesting and detailed world and the Claymore are fascinating. In this book we learn a bit more about the limitations of Claymore and how they are different from normal humans.

We also meet Teresa of the Faint Smile, she is a truly frightening Claymore. There are some excellent battle scenes throughout. Teresas story also brings up into some of Clares background and we start to learn the story of how Clare became a Claymore.

I really do love the illustration in these, it is easy to follow and detailed. I also love that they have a synopsis of the story so far at the beginning of the book...I wish more manga series did this.

Overall this is an absolutely fantastic dark fantasy manga series. I highly recommend for those who like dark fantasy. This series has excellent characters, wonderful action scenes, and a fascinating world. I cant wait to see what happens in Volume 4.

This is the third volume of the Claymore series, and in it we get much more of Clare's history come to light. This is the book that introduces Teresa of the Faint Smile, the #1 ranked Claymore warrior, and which sets up the intertwined destinies of Clare and Teresa.

This story is getting more and more interesting the further into the series one gets. The character development and motivations are moving along fairly quickly at this point, and major plot points are being revealed. I'm really starting to get into this story. The glimpses we get into the organization that creates and monitors the Claymore warriors are tantalizing, leaving me turning the pages quickly to learn more. The author, Norihiro Yago, has created characters I care about and a world about which I want to discover more.

I'm looking forward to Volume 4.
