Joseph Bentz is a great writer! He took a family issue (ailing and aging parents) that is not often discussed in detail and brought it out in the open. It was a comforting book to read...knowing my thoughts were not way off base in my own similar situation.

Also, Bentz does a fantastic job writing from a female perspective. His insight into the female mind is amazing and to be praised.

This novel was so fantastic. The author is very a smooth writer and gives you time to get to know each "person" you will be spending time with in these pages. There is alot to think about when you read this novel and the writing, the feelings of the older generation verses the younger's thoughts and that someday each of us will go thru this in one way or another, is alot when you see what is enclosed between the cover of this novel. I loved this book, I was sobbing at the end, but I loveed it!! It's probably one of the better books i've read in awhile.

This novel deals with some of the tough issues today - aging parents as children and spouses demand more time. Hugh Morris's shocking statement from his hospital bed unwittingly hints at the secret he and his wife, Vonnie, have kept concealed for nearly half a century. Now that the carefully woven fabrication is unravelling, their grown children struggle with the traume of rewriting their family history and facing the uncertain future that has been thrust upon them.
