We kill so many trees at our office it is horrible.  However, we do recycle the paper extensively.

I reuse envelopes from other members as much as possible to mail books in and try to open them gently so they can be reused.  However I occasionally just don't have any around.

So one day I turned the copy paper wrapper inside out and wrapped my books.  Not only is it thick but it has a slick surface on it to help prevent the paper from drawing damp.  I think it makes excellent packing for books and adds some additional protection as well.

I do the same thing with copy paper wrapping although I don't turn it inside out so my packages are always very colorful.
