Holly's demon series mixes contemporary themes with a historical background that exudes eroticism in all its magnificence and glory. Don't miss this one... Lucius is one sexy beast. ;)

Not as steamy or exciting as I usually like but it was a good story and had some different insights into what it is to be 'upyre'.

Hmmmm-set in Regency England, so it's a historical romance, but with vampires (or upyrs, a very imaginative reframing on Holly's part) who can shape shift into wolves. I bought this only to post it onto my pbs bookshelf, because I know there are a lot of fans of paranormal romance out there, but of course I read it first, and I enjoyed it. Well written, with a dry wit and 3 dimensional characters, but a little "too much information" for me in some of the sex scenes, this turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Emma Holly has quite an imagination and can employ the right words to make you see her mental creation. You go, girl!

A rather fun romp in Regency times with a powerful, shape-changing upyr. I enjoyed the story and characters. However, in my opinion these are not vampires, at least not in the traditional sense. I think I'd have enjoyed it more had the vampires actually been vampires.

Emma HOlly really does well to describe her characters and build the sexual tension. I love her books and keep them for a repeat read.

Let me preface by saying I am not a huge Emma Holly fan but I have read probably three of her books. Even for me, she gets wayyyyy out there (and I ready Jaid Black so it's tough to offend me). This is a historic erotica, more of a romance line but the hero is pretty alpha if that is what you are looking for. I own this one and I'll probably keep it. I enjoyed the other two in this series as well.

Good read! More historical than I have been reading but an interesting plot. First book of her Upyr series that I have read but will definitely look for more!
