Sara Franklin marries a neurotic husband to escape an abusive father. She and her husband is on their way to New Mexico when they are captured by a band of Apaches. She becomes a slave until she begins to learn the ways of her captors. She earns there respect when she becomes strong and clever. A woman of two worlds.

I found the story drags in the first half. It picks up in the second half. There is something that struck me as missing, but I could never put my finger on it.
