This is an oversized softcover with minimal investment in the publishing. The only photos are on the front and back covers, and the pages inside are, literally, coloring-book grade. However, the recipes look really, really good. There are lots of old standards, but the variety is truly amazing. Cakes, pies, custards, puddings, souffles, cookies, and more, even a little candy. The text is a little small, but the recipes are well laid out, and seem to be well written and complete. If this were the only dessert cookbook you owned, you would have variety for years. You just have to be imaginitive enough to envision the recipe without the photos to help.
