Good gritty series, cop fighting magic. Since Kate is a magic addict there is a lot of guilt over whether she feels using the magic is is worth the saving of lives. It comes to a head here, so hopefully the future books aren't so guilt ridden. Fast story line, new crazy characters and a nutso bad guy. Good blend of paranormal and cop procedural.
