I almost passed on reading this book thinking it was a wild west romance, which is not a genre I like. But what a mistake that would have been! This book is a real page-turner. There's sizzling romance, lots of action and a some suspense since it seems someone is intent on killing the heroine. The hero is brooding, dark and intensely romantic. The heroine is intelligent and vivacious. Opposites attract indeed. The love scenes are very sensual.
Standing in the English drawing room, the Earl of Perth seemed the quintessential aristocrat: remote, imperious, sophisticated. But Mercy Coltrane had seen him six years earlier in Texas, a gunfighter who was fearless and without remorse. That was why she had followed him here. That was why she needed him now.
