As good as the first book was, this book was more surprising. There were twists and turns with the plot. I was sorry to see that Midian never made an appearance, but Jayne grows up some more in this story. She's maturing. A very enjoyable read! Looking forward to book #3!

This seems to be a case where the second book did not live up to the promise of the first. The concept is good but the author doesn't quite pull it off.

Although I enjoyed this one a little less than the first, it really pulled me further into the series. I just love all the characters!

Jayne is coming into her own with this adventure. An interesting twist in terms of characters. She has pondered the enemy of my enemy is my friend to find a new perspective on rider's and their associations with humans. The Loa are the riders in question as we discover New Orleans. Everyone on the team took a hit this quest!
Little Daria says "You really need to find out who you are." Jayne thinks she's closer to understanding this by slowing down and taking a vacation instead of trying to be someone she is not. But that's not what the little Seer meant!
