This series is worth reading, but keep in mind that this isnt some light cozy series, and the book has some illustrations that are unpleasant at times. This series has been listed under horror. Just as in book 1 and 2 the incidents are horrific. There is so much more going on in this series than some cute chick solving a few mysteries. There is a vast paranormal and occult issues going on in this town.

This time she is going to try to sell a haunted hotel. But the owner needs proof that it is haunted. Violet now has a reputation as a medium, which she really secretly claims she is not. Really Violet can do more than she realizes, but it is implied, and I dont think Violet every really gets how much she can do. Doc, when he comes into contact with ghosts, can relive how the person died. So together they go to the hotel with the owner to contact ghosts. So the ghost prudence in book 2, seems to have some connection to the ghosts of this book. Similar deaths, so maybe the same murders.

There is also a whole story line about Ray and some smuggling over at the funeral parlor, add a few mystical Albinos, and you have a great story but no real finished answers. Dont let that disappoint you, on to book 4.
