Latest installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series. Sookie gets involved in the latest political shake-ups in both the Vampire and Were communities. In the meantime, Sookie has a witch roommate to deal with and her newlywed brother to look after. Quinn isn't as attentive as she had hoped he'd be, and both Eric and Bill make sure Sookie knows that they are interested in her. The best part is that Sookie learns of two completely different relatives that she didn't even know she had. Good book.

This book was predictable but such fun! I am a huge fan of the series and have devoured each one since falling in love with the HBO series True Blood. I can't wait for the next one in the series to come out. If you are a fan of Sookie Stackhouse or True Blood you will enjoy this one!

Loved the revelation at the end! Yet another fun Sookie Stackhouse book. Many ratings have rated certain books of better quality than others in the series, but I think Harris's writing is consistent. She's weaving a complete story through several volumes, rather than stand-alone books. (Even though she insists that they could be read that way, I think it hurts the story.) My only quibble with this book is one I have with all the others: The first few pages of each book are too much backstory, and not enough new story. I'm getting tired of being re-introduced to the characters for each book. Even still, I'm completely addicted to this series.

This is without a doubt one of the best Sookie books i've ever read. Don't get me wrong. I love all the action books where she's jumping from one world ending crisis to another. Those were and are great. But this one allows you to spend some time with Sookie. She's cranky at work. Her brother lets her down. And there are some really great action parts in it. It's just more of a 'get to know Sookie better' thing. I was thrilled to get to know the other part of her family. I can't wait for that to be expanded on. Really really great stuff.

I thought the plot for this one was all over the place. There was no big "climax" each scenerio got taken care of then they moved on to the next one. There was nothing that made me just have to stay up late and finish the last few chapters.

I keep reading these books because I can now put a face to the characters because of the tv show. With that said, Sookie still remains the same person. The weres involve her of their politics and of course so does the Vamp community. She always seem to be in the middle of these fights. I did not like the Quinn character and I'm happy with the way this relationship turned out in this book. I'm a team "Eric" girl and I love that he's still very involved in these stories. I am glad that she did meet a member of her family and and important one at that. I also like the friendship she has with Octavia and Amelia her witch friends. I like Jason but after what he does in this book left me with a bad feeling about him. Overall great read.

Another great sometimes funny but mysterious book from the Sookie Stackhouse series. Great fun and easy read with believable situations and colorful cast of well developed and described characters.

I loved it. Each Sookie Stackhouse book gets more exciting than the previous. There's a combination of old and new characters with lots of action and intrigue.

I accidentally used this book to prop up the other Sookie books, and instead of reading #1, I read #8 first. Now I know what's going to happen in 1-7. Great. But, I loved it and had no trouble following it. The interplay of different "monsters" is fun and interesting. I still plan to read 1-7. I have started watching "True Blood," which is OK, but miscast IMHO. I had someone like Juliette Lewis or Winona Ryder in mind - more quirky.
