A woman is murdered during a showing of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats and reporter Dani Richards is on the sceneliterally, as the murder occurred in the box right next to the one Dani shares with her beloved aunt, Jayne, who is suffering from Alzheimers disease. The reveal of the killer isnt the surprise here, as the author lets us know almost off the bat who did it, but rather the slow courtship of Dani and her former flame, Caleb Jamison. Danis hidden a life-changing event from him and both wonder if theyre doomed to live in the past with all its regrets and disappointments or if they both care enough to learn to trust each other. Calebs declaration of love at the books conclusion is heartwarming.
