I love this series- beside being just a good read, there are many historial factswritten in each book. I got a history lesson with each book-school should hace been this fun.

In 1903, Kate Sheridan works on a book at Blenheim Palace about the love affair between Henry II and Rosamund, who may have been killed at the hands of Eleanor of Aquitaine. The disappearance of a household maid and a mysterious woman trying to sell the Marlborough gems, and a duke and his teenaged mistress going missing all contribute to a new mystery to solve.

This is one of the best books in this series, and I love this series. Consuelo Vanderbilt, the Duchess of Marlborough, and Gladys Deacon both sound fascinating enough that I've ordered books to read more about their very real lives. Excellent book!!!

There are a total of twelve books in this series. If possible, try to read them in order. If you need to read them out of order, no worries. The author will catch you up as you go.
Each of the books takes place in a time period between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth. The historical goings-on are well documented and you'll meet caboodles of famous people along the way.
These are murder mysteries and the couple who solve the crimes reflect the changes, inventions and new crime-fighting information encountered at the time.
Despite being historical, these books aren't dry textbooks. The characters come alive as they look for clues and despite some missteps along the way, find the dastardly murderer and send him/her off to jail.
