I read this book years ago and didn't think it was good enough to read the second in this series. I was disappointed then as Mark Twain is one of my favorite authors and I had hoped to enjoy a series wherein he solved mysteries.

Well, people change and now its back. I read it again and enjoyed it. Enjoyed it enough to get copies of all the other books in this series.

I was surprised to discover that the author also does sci-fi.

I added the below text after finishing this entire series.

I think that a pre-requisite for really enjoying this entire series is enjoying the writings of Mark Twain. If you do not, then this series will not be as interesting as many other mystery series. I say this as I felt that the characters and plots are not equal to many other really good mystery series.

Even though Mark has always been one of my favorite authors, I sometimes found myself getting a little tired of the Twain and Cabot characters in this series.
