27-year-old artist Simon Winthrop is charged with killing his wealthy grandfather. If he did, he doesn't remember. Nor does he remember doing some decidedly weird paintings attributed to him or to having had an affair that ended when the woman died as a result of a bad abortion (that she had because Simon would not marry her). Is Simon lying or does he have a multiple personality disorder. An intriguing puzzle (half star off because I figured it out).
