The conclusion to the Courtship Wars can be read independently, but for those who have read the preceeding five books it is a satisfying desert. It is filled with sensual love sceens, exciting suspense, and unexpected revelations. All in all a good read.

This last installment of the Courtship Wars series was long anticipated, but it turned out that it didn't quite live up to its hype. The story was rather bland; sweet but unexceptional. The forced marriage, the "haunted" castle, and the the couple's determined fight against their sexual attraction are staples in the romance genre. It wasn't until Ian honestly confronted his love for Tess and his determination to win her that the story became interesting. Unfortunately, you have to read through most of the story to get there. Finding out the truth about Tess's late betrothed's character, his actions, and ultimately his secret, not only added another interesting slant to the plot, but was a testament to Tess's maturity. Still, overall an average read. 3.5 stars.
