If you love reading history, then this book of China's history starting in year 1923 will would captivate your interest. It covered a period of the Chinese revolution. It is a well written novel, I couldn't put it down once started. Usually I do not like books with profanity, however, there was only one burst of profanity in the whole book; I could understand why the author used the words of profanity; Cheloe the main character was very distraut over learning of her husbands unfaithful character. I loved the book.

Bickmore is a wonderful writer. Like all her books, Distant Star is complex and deep, revealing as much about the human character as about life in China.
