This is the first book I've read by Victoria Pade and I really enjoyed it. The characters were believable, likeable, and the plot progression was well done. Funny in places, realistic in terms of family situations etc. I thought it was written well and flowed well. Looking forward to reading others by the author.

My wife enjoyed the book so I immediately ordered the author's other mystery title. Ms. Pade, the author, has written 30 or 40 romances, and the romance habit is hard to break.

I read the first 82 pages, then decided I really didn't care what happened to the characters or who done it, so I abandoned the book and came here to list it. Curiously, it wasn't that it was overtly a romance novel--it wasn't. One of the characters going through a divorce decides that she KNOWS her soon-to-be-ex had a single reason for wanting a divorce (money). She knows she can fix that, so she's sure she can get him back--his new little chippy of a sexpot plaything notwithstanding. I couldn't face going through to the inevitable end of that story line. I get enough of that working as an assistant to my wife in her family law practice. We handle divorces all day every day; I just don't need more of that nonsense in my entertainment. Give me a good clean murder any day.

(After I retired as a CPA and college instructor, I get to spend my days in my wife's office as unpaid help. How she managed to deal with these divorces and paternity and custody stuff for all these years is beyond me. And, in case your wondering, we have no divorce problems ourselves--36 years of wedded bliss so far with no end in sight....)
