Awww, I loved this book. As a dog lover who would take in every stray dog if I had my way, I completely related to the author. At times, it reminded me of Marley & Me--the book showed the lighter and fun side of owning a dog. Other times, it broke my heart hearing the stories of dogs who were left behind. It's a great, quick read. It even has some great resources in the back for dog owners.

An enjoyable and quick read. I laughed to myself a few times because it seemed as if the author spent quite a bit of time trying to avoid some of the dogs who found him, but that is something most of us who find a lot of animals has done. The author seems authentic and honest and writes the same way. He is never overly sentimental about the animals and is frequently quite honest about the future awaiting some of the unwanted, yet this book has a lot of heart. There is also some good practical advice about dogs; finding them, loving them, helping them. And it will probably change the way you look at pitbulls forever.

I loved this book. I grew up in a home where I was taught if I found a stray animal to bring it home and take care of it until it was able to be placed. This trait has continued through out my life. When I see a dog wandering the street I'm the first person who wants to make sure it's safe. I love reading this book about another lady with such a heart similar to mine. A must read for all those folks who take the time to help rescue other people's pets from a life of neglect.

A fascinating book. I couldn't put it down! Ken Foster certainly understands the mutual bond between dogs and humans.
