This collection of essays by John Taylor Gatto should be required reading for all parents of young children before they are first enrolled in school. Failing that, parents of kids still in school should read it too, so they can pull their kids out before there is any further damage done to them!

I have this book listed because I had lost my first printing copy and repurchased the book. To say: this is a must have for anyone with any interest in the public school system. I am the product of private schools, former public school teacher and now a homeschooling mommy of nine. My first four have been ready for college at 16. Public schools are the lowest common way to educate our children, please be involved whatever choice you choose.
