I requested this book for my daughter who just purchased a property with a pond. She ha found it very useful in restoring the pond to a healthy state.

The book is a bit dated and some of the included costs caused me to think back wistfully to a less complicated time. That is the reason for the 4 stars. This book is part anecdote of a young mans endeavor to create a pond and nurture it and part serious considerations given to site evaluation, design and construction. There were calculations here I had not encountered in previous reads, such as how much watershed should be supplying your pond and what kind of outlets should be avoided for the Northeast.
