The Never Land Series debuts with Escape from the Carnivale. This new Disney series tells the stories of other characters in Never Land besides Peter Pan. In this tale, a curious girl named Little Scallop, who is the chief's daughter, befriends the mermaids Aqua and Surf. The mermaids normally stay close to the shore, but today the girls decided to search for pearls. Since pearls are found in deeper water, that means leaving their safe haven and hijinx ensue.

Escape from the Carnivale is a short story with pirates and an exciting rescue. You can't go wrong with pirates. I liked this story more because it didn't have Peter Pan - there were some lost boys, but Peter Pan is so often the central character that it was a nice change.
