I give the suspense part a 4 and the romance a 2 except for the epilogue which made it ok. In this book the reader knows the killer but there's another 'bad guy' as well. I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to violence and stuff of that nature and if you've read her first 2 books(no regrets and no control) this one is different in that the killer is a very close friend of all the victims and yes there are plenty of 'disposable' people in this one. This 'friend' truly believes he is saving his friends by killing them and making it look like a suicide, planning to ease his own suffering after all is done. It seems the first 2 stories dealt with terrorists which don't effect most of us in every day life but this one was a bit more believable as it involved someone almost family and had a lot of psychotic elements and descriptions of the people dying and their last words. so if this sorta thing bothers you pass on this book.If you can separate the story from reality and focus on the main H/h you'll be fine.

This is the last book of a trilogy. The first two were "No Regrets" and "No Control." I was excited to read Grant's story since he was in both the last one and was quite a memorable character. I was also hesitant going in because I liked "No Regrets" a lot but hated "No Control." I think this one was better than "No Regrets."
Things you should know before starting this book is that it is psychologically gory. I have a high tolerance for physical gore but this is fear we are talking about. And Shannon does such a good job of making you fear along with the victims of the murderer that I actually felt my stomach drop a few times. It's worst if you are a parent. Something about the way Butcher describes things just gave me the willies and I have read my fair share of true crime serial killer books.
That being said there are multiple bad guys to worry about. The suspense is great even though you know who the murderer is. I love it when authors can do that (make you intrigue even though you know who the baddies are). I am a bit surprise that the only one who seriously put the serial killer on the suspect list was the detective.
The love scenes are a little stagnant. I have to say that it is a consistent thing with Butcher. She tends to have her characters make love in the same way with a slight variation of the positions. She definitely needs some work there. But I did enjoy the characters and love the interaction between Isabelle and Grant. I like that Isabelle is a bit of a cryer and still managed to be smart and strong. Grant doesn't disappoint as an alpha male. I don't think Grant even needed the background issues with Dad to make him work. The side characters were great as well and I was really sad when they got offed by the bad guy.
This is a great page turner and I recommend it if you can handle books on psychos.

This is a romantic suspense that will keep you up all night just to finish. Great ending to series. All can stand alone & I can't pick which one I liked best. They were all great.
