Very good historical fiction focusing on the first females to compete in track & field events at the Olympics in 1932 & 1936. Follows several real-life athletes as well as a couple of "composite" athletes. Time frame is the LA Olympics in 1932 and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. All are battling gender discrimination and some racial discrimination as well. Good background and historical information. Easy read, doesn't get bogged down - did have a little trouble keeping track of characters initially.
