The Final Note is a thought-provoking, inspirational and heart-breaking novel. It's romantic and tragic. The anger Ethan feels and expresses is harsh, yet understandable. Texting is a real issue today; I urge everyone not to text while driving. Sure he blames the driver who puts the love of his life in a coma, who wouldn't? But forgiveness is something Ethan will have to arrive to on his own to find peace in life to move forward with his future. I found it very hard to like Ethan but understood his feelings and sometimes irrational behavior. Anna is a very likable character and I really adored her. Ethan's grandfather harbors his own secrets, but he also tries to help Ethan. Milne does a great job of character development, dialogue, and creating a scene you can immerse yourself into. A very satisfying read!

This book was a new one for me and the author was someone I had never heard of. I did go to his website and I found that he is the author of several other books. Needless to say, after reading this one, I put them on my wish list:)

I was put through every type of emotion while I was reading this book. Kevin is an excellent writer!! My favorite character was probably Annaliese. She seemed so bent on helping Ethan and getting through life, even with all it's twists and turns. I loved how this book shows that life is not always fair and even though we get down, we can still get back up. And it is all part of our journey. The other good thing was how we make a promise and either give up on it or work to fulfill it. Very good thoughts on this.

This is a book I think even a guy would like. Not too much romance and pretty much a beautiful story. This was well written and the musical aspect was nice as well.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hachette Books. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.
