Very different subject matter than usual though the author does have a handsome Duke as the hero. The heroine does have nobility in her ancestry but her father being a doctor and she his assistant, they are considered not acceptable, a tragic situation in her youth makes her not marriageable. The author rounds out her secondary characters enough so a reader gets a very good storyline.
