This is the best quilting book that I own, and I have a lot. It is simple and thorough, yet not TOO simplistic. Written with humor as well as skill. I love this book!

This, together with Quilting for Dummies, was the first book I read about quilting. The title is no exaggeration: Doak's book really should be your first. It's perfect instruction for the beginner.
