Born into slavery, young Harriet Tubman knew only hard work and hunger. Escape seemed impossible - certainly dangerous. Yet Harriet was strong-willed and courageous. "Someday," she said, "I'm going to be free."

When finally she did escape NOrth, by the secret route called the "Undergroud Railroad," Harriet didn't forget her people. Again and again she risked her life to lead them on the same secret, dangerous journey.

Freedom Train is the exciting, true story of Harriet Tubman's bold and daring life.

I really think this book is great for kids starting about age 10. It is a very important part of history that we all should know about and this book makes it captivating. My friend and I both really were into this book and I even put on a play based on it. I also did a report as well . I give this book two thumbs up for making history interesting.
