Everyone needs to know where they are from. Your ancestral background is a wealth of information to finding out what makes you tick. In this story, a young woman who was born in England but whose roots are Jamaican, takes a trip to her home country at the prodding of her parents. It's there that she finds out her rich heritage and to never question her identity or class in the world again. This book has a lot of history and the dialog, although it takes some getting used to, can be incredibly funny. I really enjoyed this book.

Easy read, nice story, great characters. Set in London, UK in the 70s/80s I think.
