This is a regency romance book.
Lord Foxworth (Alex) is a widower with two young sons who has grown tired of raking and wants to marry again. Although he is a good master and conscientious landowner, his reputation with women tells against him, so he hires Lady Isabelle to school him in behavior calculated to make him once again acceptable around eligible ton maidens. Lady Isabelle is a merchant's widow with a young daughter, and some secrets of her own. The story is set at Christmas and is a smoothly written, pleasant read.
This book is a sequel to HIS SAVING GRACE, which tells the story of Alexander's younger brother Adam and his wife Grace, who was the object of Alex's attentions during his raking period. Both these characters appear in A GIFT FOR A ROGUE.
