Good In Bed (Cannie Shapiro, Bk 1) (Audio CD) (Abridged)
Good In Bed - Cannie Shapiro, Bk 1 - Audio CD - Abridged Author:Jennifer Weiner, Paula Cale (Narrator) For twenty-eight years, things have been tripping along nicely for Cannie Shapiro. Sure, her mother has come charging out of the closet, and her father has long since dropped out of her world. But she loves her friends, her rat terrier, Nifkin, and her job as pop culture reporter for The Philadelphia Examiner. She's even made a tenuous peace... more » with her plus-size body.
But the day she opens up a national women's magazine and sees the words "Loving a Larger Woman" above her ex-boyfriend's byline, Cannie is plunged into misery...and the most amazing year of her life. From Philadelphia to Hollywood and back home again, she charts a new course for herself: mourning her losses, facing her past, and figuring out who she is and who she can become.
Sexy romp? Not at all. This is a story about the hard facts of life and how one woman handled what she was dealt. Inspiring, sad, uplifting, wonderful story. I relished the trip to and from work just to hear another chapter in Cannie's life. What a splendid book. Highly recommended.

Although I was initially put off by the title and cover photo to the book, I am really glad I ordered it. I listened to this on CD and thought it was a great read. The narrator has a really nice voice, the story is interesting, very poignant at times, quite humorous and it was easy to relate to the main character. I passed it on to my niece who loved it, too.
I really liked this audiobook. The story is plausible, the main character totally likable. And is very well written. I could totally relate to the protagonist, and sympathize with her. All in all, I really enjoyed this story.
