Every year, I teach a class that I wrote the curriculum for called "The Nativity Through Fine Art". This book is an excellent resource for that class. It goes through a variety of artists and identifies the symbolism that was well understood at the time of each piece. I love looking at Renaissance art and could browse this book for hours.
