Lew misses his grandfather, even though he died when Lew was just two. He remembers Grandpa's blue eyes and scratchy beard, and how he came in the night when Lew called. Lew's mother remembers how Grandpa held baby Lew like a kitten, laughing out loud with joy when he was born. And together Lew and his mother learn that remembering Grandpa together is less lonely than each remembering him alone.
