If your mystery readers have yet to meet British Inspector Bill Slider and Company, it's time they do. Though readers may guess the murderer early on in this fourth in the series, his police cohorts, and his violinist love, Joanna, are among the most appealing cast in recent memory. Their relationships, the music world setting, and the clever dialog (with blessedly fewer puns than in previous works) recommend this to all collections. Start with the first in the series, Orchestrated Death.
