This is an old classic of radio; I believe most of these radio sessions were taped in the early 1950s (one show mentioned that it was 1953). I remember my parents talking about Gildersleeve. They listened to his show often. I enjoyed hearing the old NBC shows; they included the commercials. The ads were only twice per show (one whole minute ad about Kraft, and then a 30-second ad).
The shows are entertaining with a simpler time and place; people laughed at things we might think corny.
