He was born in 1974 in Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), France and from his early childhood with reading books and plays, Guillaume Musso became convinced that one day, he too would write novels.

After finishing high school in France, Guillaume Musso left for the United States at the age of 19. He spent several months in New York City , living with other young foreigners and earning his money by selling ice-cream. He came home to France with his head filled with ideas for novels. The readers can easily see the influence his time in the United States has had on him, as the action in his books partly takes place overseas.

Then he came back to France and after getting a degree in economics, he became an economics teacher in high schools.His first published novel is Skidamarink, a thriller starting with the thief of the Joconde painting in the Musée du Louvres, published in 2001.

After a car accident of which he came out unharmed but felt a near death experience, Guillaume Musso imagined a story about a man whom death doesn't want . This would become the novel Afterwards... published in 2004 by XO Editions, which sold more than 1 million copies in France and has been translated into 23 languages. Afterwards, the movie directed by Gilles Bourdos starring John Malkovitch and Evangeline Lilly was released in France in January 2009 and then internationally.

Then Guillaume Musso wrote Save Me (2005), Will You Be There? (2006), Because I Love You (2007), I Will Be Back to Get You (2008), Where Would I Be Without You? (2009) and Girl on Paper (2010) . In 2009, Guillaume Musso was the #2 bestselling author in France. Now 7 million copies of his novels have been sold in France and they have been translated into 33 languages. Four of them have been or will be adapted to the cinema.
