Take a bit of romance, add a helping of Christian values, combine it with old-west charm and you have this book. This book took me a few chapters to hit the point where I had to turn the page to see what was next. The story spends a bit too much time on character development and not nearly enough on action/vivid description for my tastes, but nevertheless the story is a good read. The characters are easy to fall in love with (or despise...depending upon their purpose). The plot is somewhat predictable, but not in such a way as to detract the reader from wanting to continue. Definitely something I will be passing around to fellow readers in my family. *inserting legal mumbo-jumbo** Thanks to Goodreads First Reads for this book!

Loved this story. Light romance, family tragedy, completion of several items. Looking forward to the next one. Good fun, clean and a good message about God's helping us in our lives and the beliefs of some of the main characters.

This second book really lets you get to know the town folk of Fergus. Some unexpected friendships develop, and some not so desireables come to Fergus. The ladies' shooting club gets to show off their abilities when the town has a shooting contest. When one of their own is kidnapped, they support the sheriff in the rescue. Can't wait to read the next in this series.

This is the second book in the series set in Fergus, a small dusty town in the west. The women's shooting club helps the sheriff and his posse save one of their own, who is kidnapped by ruthless criminals. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book. I highly recommend books by Susan Page Davis.
