I bought this book from Amazon through PBS because it was never available on the PBS site.

Now I understand why.

I will definitely not be adding this book to my PBS bookshelf anytime soon - if ever! A wonderfully detailed resource, Handmade Marketplace has it all: relevant information, a great tone, and accurate helpful hints. It's also a great reference work.

Kari Chapin uses her personal experience selling her crafts online and combines it with the experiences of dozens of other artists and crafty folks, including Amy Butler (Amy Butler Design), Jenny Hart (Sublime Stitching), and Grace Bonney (Design*Sponge). Their combined knowledge covers it all: selling in popular online markets (ie. Etsy, 1000markets), fairs, craft shows, and even retail stores. They offer great advice, insider tips, what NOT to do, and tons of positivity and encouragement.

If you have ever had any desire to make a living selling what you love creating, this book will not only motivate you, it will inform you, inspire you, and prepare you for the reality of what it takes to sell handmade. Once you've read it, you may even decide selling your crafts isn't for you. Either way, this book gives you everything you'll need to decide.

Whether you paint, bead, write, sew, or make weird things out of plastic, I'll willingly add my voice to the many who say, "You should get this book!"
