Book 1 of the series. Well written and a fun read. This is actually a pretty great series, again i read out of order but it didn't seem to matter, i read 2 first then 1. It is geared for teens but a good reaad for adults too. The Veritas (latin word for truth) project team have been secretely commissioned by the President to investigate strange mysteries, crimes, and unusual occurences. their job is not to find out what happened, but why. No one knows who they are--they could be right next to you. They are undercover. They are asked to uncover todays hottest issues and this book is a page turner as you can guess. Good read.

This is a great "gripper" for those tween-teens without the gore of a typical thriller! Peretti is a fantastic author! Teenage twins and their parents help the USA search out "odd" situations! The sequel "Nightmare Academy" is EXCELLENT! Read 'em both!

Nice book. Great series. Although I am tied to the second one more, this book is a must.
