This is a very honest and aptly titled bio of a wonderful songwriter. It is amazing he is alive. He is forthright in sharing how he hurt those who tried to help him, and how he could get away with so much because of who he was. His strength in overcoming it all is admirable. Very interesting reading.

An honest straight-forward book about an amazing songwriter and artist. Lauren St. John not only gives us a detailed look at the successes and struggles of Steve Earle but also an insight into the business side of country/ Americana music.
