This is a delightfully magical book about children, their games and what happens when they grow out of childhood, moving into adolescence. The hero of the book is Jack but his friends take a close second and third with the girl he hates just as crucial to the plot. In the midst of it all is a magic bike that chooses its riders and leads the pack whenever it's moving with a rider. Note: It doesn't always have a rider. Interesting read. (Discovered this author when I chose a book for a young reader in our family. The book was Eggs and she enjoyed it so much she asked for more reads by the same author.)
