Hunted is a story about a girl named Karen who was beaten within an inch of her life by her classmate Tina and her friends. Karen feels herself coming around later when it's dark and everyone is gone. She begins to run and wonders at how swiftly she can run considering what happened to her.

As she runs, she realizes that she is not familiar with the area, as she should be. She is beginning to understand that she is no longer Karen the girl, and she is no longer in her own world. She has become a fox in a time of Kings, Queens and shepards.

She embarks upon a shepard who's life is about to change dramatically. He realizes immediately that she is not an average fox, but an arl (an animal with a non-animal spirit). They find themselves on quite an adventure and journey as the soldiers and the Queen's army battle for control of the kingdom.

Mystical story of a modern girl and her link to an ancient, pagan , tribal past. I would go for that kind of thing, but the writing I found rather lacking. Sparse description, repetitive references, and as a reader I couldn't bring myself to care about most of the characters very much at all.
