Confusing cover and title. I am trying to review Cherry Adair's HUSH, not Dangerous Magic which comes up but I checked the ISBN number.
This long, way too long story has good sex but is boring. I picked it up because of the magic "power" he was supposed to receive, stupid.
I liked the character and her magical vest, but since I have worn a weight vest all day that was 12 pounds, there's no way on planet earth she wore 18 lbs in the jungle without some LEAD in it to give it weight. In the end, I didn't enjoy the read good sex couldn't make up for improbability, which is why I'm swapping it.

*.* SPOILERS *.*
This is the first of her books that I've read and I have to say I did enjoy it. For the most part. Since I don't know about adventuring and such, I didn't mind that she may have taken literary license with what would actually happen in the real world. After all, this is fiction. I did enjoy the sex scenes and the danger. The only part that I didn't care for was the surprise ending. First, I guessed it right off. Second, there wasn't a reason why the wife was so blood thirsty angry. So she was in love with a female and wanted money. Knowing her husband didn't love her and wasn't interested in money, as she should have if she knew him enough to be engaged to him, she would have saved everyone a lot of grief to just ask for money and go off with her lover. If she comes out with a Lodestone 2, I might be interested enough to read it. But it wasn't anything special enough to make me interested in any of her other books.

This is 1st in series & loved it. Keeps you reading late at night to finish. The Title is "HUSH", don't know why posting shows this cover & name. A must read for suspense lovers.

Granted this book was not up to her usual par but it made me laugh. Improbable as it was, and as unlikely to be believable, it was still entertaining. I will read the next book in the series. I like books that make me laugh.

I've never read anything by Cherry Adair that I didn't love. HUSH is no exception!

A new series! I love Cherry Adair characters, and Zak and Acadia are funny and hot. As always, the sex is plentiful (and can't blame this pair). The Venezuelan jungle description almost made me want to visit (minus the baddies). I look forward to the next Lodestone book.

I have no idea why the cover title pictured isn't the title of the book.

This really is a great summer fun read.

**SPOILERS**

Yes, as other reviews state, this story is indeed 'out there' and there are aspects that are rushed, like the last chapter/epilogue.

However just with the fact that Zak basically becomes a human GPS and timid Acadia can hold her own while lost in the jungle just out of sheer tenacity and from working at a sporting goods store, all sense of "reality" really should be check at the door. I've read other authors who try to write a new angle on the millionaire-adventurer theme, but I found "Hush" to be interesting, riveting, and a fast-paced page turner. I *never* would have guessed the ending, as Cherry Adair did a fantastic job of leading the reader in the wrong direction. Even at the end, when his deceased wife reveals she faked her death, I actually yelled out "I can't belive she did that!", because I was completely shocked - in a good way.

Really good read, and definitely has me looking forward to more of the Lodestone Series.

Overall I enjoyed the book as I love everything the author writes. Heroine was my favorite character. I will not give away spoilers but the ending of this story took me someplace that I don't usually get to in action/paranormal romances and I was not happy about it. It disturb my sleep the night I finished it. If it happens in the next book of this series I don't think I'll be continuing it because I enjoy my HEA for all the main characters.

Slow start but plenty of action and steamy sex by the end. I didn't like the "he acts like a jerk because he likes you" style of the hero in the beginning, but of course by the end he's reformed. Great heroine!

Ok- I really hope you enjoy the cover of this book, because it is the best part...
The book actually started out with a bit of potential- with a strange kidnapping by Venezuelan guerrillas in the jungle, but it quickly falls apart after this and becomes entirely unrealistic and even borderline ridiculous. I'll usually give a romantic suspense book some leeway on the credibility, but this one was just beyond anything I could believe. The heroine is carrying 20 extra pounds worth of survival supplies in her fantastic vest, and her kidnappers let her keep it all? Come on! Then she single-handedly gets them out of an impossible situation not once, but three times? Not buying it.
But- the book then takes an even more absolutely ridiculous turn about two third of the way through it... and suddenly the hero becomes a human GPS... (no, I'm not kidding...) At that point, I started skimming, because the storyline literally became "shake-my-head laugh out loud" bad. Will I read book 2, if the series continues? Nope! (I may enjoy the cover, but I won't waste another minute on this author...)
